True, they really already jumped it, the mock looks crazy, but I wouldn't put it passed them. But, I am hoping this doesn't happen, I would like to see what Devin Thomas grows into as a player.

Agree the skins may try to move to #8 to take Sanchez. I think Seattle wants players with impact now while Hasselbeck is still their man, so Sanchez would be an expensive backup QB for a few years. I think it's unlikely he goes at 4.
I also think either Denver or SF would take him, so #8 is the key spot.
But I don't think the skins would agree to Thomas in the deal. Why get a new franchise QB if he only has smurfs to throw to? Usually year 2 or 3 is when WR start producing anyways.
I do think though that if there is any deal for Sanchez, they have to trade Campbell and get what they can - maybe a #4 or #5 at best, since he is a FA. Use that pick on a developmental lineman.
One other possibility is the 49ers - who are Defensive minded under Singletary. How about #10 to the Skins + one of their Safeties (Moore or Horton) and #13?
One fly in the ointment is - given what he saw Joe Flacco do - I can see Ryan and the Jets selling the farm to get to #8 or #4 to get a shot at Sanchez - mostly because they need him more desperately than the 'Skins.

Agreed. Frankly, I'd deal Moss and roll with Thomas.

definitely Moss has far more value than Thomas. Teams love his speed and moves. Thomas is just potential.

Us Redskin fans may have gotten a bit tired of Santana...but I think he still has a lot of value to the other NFL clubs. Moss could be a solid pawn on Saturday.

As long as he's not asked to be the primary WR, he's an effective player, but he's a 2nd banana being asked to carry a passing game with a Qb he has issues with. Unfortunately, the skins don't seem to have any interest in dealing him, even though they could save 3-5 million in cap room if they dumped him.

Very true. Moss and Jason have little to zero chemistry; and I think both are at fault for that...
I'd dangle BOTH of them if the right offer came along on Saturday.

Yes, but Snyder could talk himself into the massive coverage over the "fight for the starting job" between Campbell and Sanchez.
If the skins got Sanchez, I wouldn't offer a 3rd for Campbell. Why bother. You know he's a goner in a year.

why trade for campbell now ? because you get a healthy qb with a solid work ethic and avoid any competition for him next year.. at the worst you sign him to a short term extension (as you advised) and see what he does for your team.
he is already used to playing behind a crappy o line and wont complain about anything.
for next years 3rd (really the equivalent ofthis years 4th) he is easily worth it
and some team is going to need a potential starter this year, plus he is already used to adapting to knew offensive schemes on a yearly basis

There's not many players I wouldn't entertain offers for saturday. Portis, Fat Albert, Samuels, Cooley and Landry are about it. And mostly those are because of their salaries.

I understand that, but why give the skins a pick when you can either...
1-sign him as a UFA
2-sign him as a RFA and give up a pick after another year of play under his belt
3-sign him as a tagged player after another year of play under his belt.
If the skins get Sanchez, I don't see much of a market for Campbell. And frankly, if we've decided to roll with Dirty Sanchez, I'd rather he sit for year.

all those options will cost more than trading a discounted draft pick for him this year. plus, if your starter goes down, you have a solid player.
teams know that JC is a goner either this year or next and the market is, what the market is..

Yeah, but thats what will kill his value. I don't see anyone offering more than a 4th if we draft Sanchez--especially with Brady Quinn on the block--and I doubt the skins will take that.

we took a 6th for Ramsey.. i think we will take a 4
the problem is that keeping him will cause one of the worst PR nightmares that snyderrato could have to deal with.. the team will split over this.
there will be 24/7 coverage of ....REDSKINS HELD HOSTAGE....

Well, I would only dangle Jason if it was for a trade up to get Sanchez. Lord knows we can't go into '09 with Colt and Collins.
Unlike you; I'm also ok with going into '09 with BOTH JC and Sanchez. I prefer there to be competition for our QB. It shows the true character of a QB. Some do better with competition (Warner); others do not (Leinhart). If we could package #13 and Moss and something else (next year's 3rd? dunno) to get Sanchez to compete with Jason, I say we do it...
The days of players getting comfortable and feeling secure with their starting jobs on this team needs to end starting NOW...

we dont have the chips to do it... unless snyder is willing to part with next year's picks and so far, he has said NO... if he does that, i cannot see him luring a big name coach to follow Zorn with no picks in 2010...
having sanchez and JC is a recipe for a public relations debacle.. yes, DC always loves a QB controversy, but i can see a boatload of trouble for the franchise because every time JC has a 3 and out, the booing is going to start...
