Default Seahawks sign Edge

Quote:
RENTON, Wash. (AP)—Edgerrin James(notes) is Seattle’s latest aging star running back, less than a year and half after Shaun Alexander(notes) was unceremoniously booted out of town.

The league’s leading active rusher signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday night. He’s being asked to help revive a rushing offense that has been generally dormant since February 2006, when Alexander was the NFL MVP and Seattle was in its only Super Bowl.

Earlier Tuesday night, Seattle waived fellow veteran running back T.J. Duckett(notes) to clear roster space.

“It’s official! Congrats to Edgerrin James on signing a 1 year deal with the Seahawks,” agent Drew Rosenhaus posted on Twitter late Tuesday.

Not sure how good Seattles OL is, this could be a boost to EJs career. May not be a bad pickup in fantasy leagues neither. Watch and see how he plays early on in the season.

I think Edge's success hinges greatly on whether or not the bald one is healthy and back to his former self. If not, I don't see this helping this team very much. It's still one of the most wide-open divisions in football, though, so, we'll see.

I don't know, it doesn't seem like the Seahawks have many more viable options back there. It appears to be that Edge is the guy.

seattle's O line is in shambles right now.. both the starting Center (spencer) and Walter Jones are out for an undetermined length of time.. they might end up regretting taking another LB (curry) instead of an OL at the head of their draft
