Davis also got to develop behind Terry Allen for a couple years. He wasn't ready his first couple of years either. So you can sneeze at Betts & Canidate all you want, but they are ahead of Davis at this point in their careers.

Also as a teary Emmit Smith learned, no RB suceeds on his own (Welcome to Barry Sander's World, Emmit). Half of Davis's credit goes to the line which is still here.

Davis is a nice back. But no way I hold him in any higher reguard than Terry Allen, Earnest Byner, (Timmy Smith - ok), George Rogers, John Riggins. A worthy sucessor will arise behind that o-line.

I love Davis as well and hated to see him go. However, I believe that was the best move the skins could've made. Besides, you all aren't taking one simple thing into account when you say he's on pace for certain stats-There's a very good chance with that many carries, he'll get injured in some way, he's been in the league 8-9 years now (can't remember) and he's already got a lot of wear and tear on his body, no matter how great of shape he's in. I'm content with Betts and Candidate.
