I read one report last week that said the contract w/ Shanahan was already done, just needed to be signed. I hope this is the case and it's official within the next 24 hours. I'm ready to move on from this, the sooner the better.

I've never been so happy for a football season to end.

Shanny isn't the head coach yet. If you would have stated "Fans want a solid head coach" I would give it to you but you stated as if it has already happened and it hasn't to this point.

interesting question: if BOTH kubiak and Kyle shanahan are fired, do BOTH end up under Mike ? who is the OC and who is the QB coach ?
my guess would be the roles are reversed, and Kyle is the OC with Kubiak as the QB coach.. i dont think Kubiak will get another HC gig, so he could be elevated as OC if Kyle Shanahan gets a HC spot in the future.. all conjecture, right now

Yea... who was the OC mastermind in Texas...Kubiak or Kyle? Would you rather have Kubiak as OC or Kyle? Is Kyle another Sherman "I dont call any plays , you do it" Smith? Does he really coordinate the offense in Texas?

Ill take Kubiak for OC any day over Kyle... I could be wrong though.

i think that Kubiak was Shanahan's right hand man for years in Denver, and like
Kiffin or Jim Johnson, i think his future is as a coordinator and not a head coach

that said, i think that shanny wants to get his son to the next level so he gets showcased

Edit: from the report above ^

Looks like the coaching staff will look like this:

HC - Mike Shanahan
OC - Kyle Shanahan
DC - Mike Zimmer

True, I broke my own rule. I said in a previous post that I was concerned with all this talk about Shanny and it not going through. Shanahan is not a done deal, I stand corrected and will remove my "Check".

right now, i dont think that Kyle Shanahan is going to be available unless Dad gives him some kind of enhanced title (Head Coach in Waiting ??) or houston let's him out
Zimmer is free after this year unless Cincy makes him an offer in the next couple of weeks

Zimmer is a good defensive coordinator...Bill Parcells spoke very highly of him during his time here. He was one of the few coaches he kept on staff when he became the head coach. He would be a tremendous asset to our defense if we could lure him to Washington.

Cincy could have locked him up, but they lowballed him on his last contract.
he might get some sniffs as a HC, but i think that rivera goes before him..

most likely, we get him and Snyder pays him royally.. if he does a great job, it could be like Marv Lewis who was our DC for 1 year before moving on to be HC at Cincy
