Actually not irony lol. Irony would be Obama demanding Palin to release the birth certificate(maybe).
I started out with the shark jumping joke, then you kept it going.

You of course are leaving out the fact that Palin blasted Rahm Emmanueal for using the term "retarded" in a private conversation reported by a third party. And then she absolved Rush for doing the same damn thing on a nationally syndicated radio program. That is the Hypocracy.
Her blasting family Guy is just stupid and inneffective...but hey that pretty much sums up most of her political moves.

Its ironic that YOU think she should release the birth cert since you have no issues with Obama's. If she has the power to keep the cert private don't you think she'd have the power to have it read the way she wanted it?
It was the Hawaii Dept of Health Director who certifies the birth certificates. Dr. Fukino certified the new certificate. I don't question it but I do think it was worth discussing. There is ample evidence the new one if perfectly legit.

YOU did not listen to Rush discussing it. He was lampooning Emanuel because democrats are supposed to be the sensitive, caring types. She knew who Rush was targeting and what his point was. There is nothing hypocritical in her giving Rush a pass. Had you heard his show, you likely would have understood.
Trent Lott gets run out of leadership in the GOP because he clumsily tries to say something nice at an old man's birthday. Harry Reid makes racially insensitive comments and the reaction is "meh." That was Rush's greater point.
Be honest, who are you are more troubled by, Palin because she didn't go after Rush or Emanuel because he tossed out the epithet?

Did you think you had exclusive rights to the word, Dave?

I just watched the show and, as always, it was hilarious. That line wasn't really good but, holy crap, they don't hold any punches. To those who saw it, Stewie's song had me wetting myself.

I said that if she wanted to kill the story in 30 seconds, she could just release the birth certificate. There's no irony since Obama released his(which was the right move imo, since it made the birthers look like wackos). Not that any of this could be ironic.

Yes, but the Governor checked the records and released a statement confirming what the Dept of Health said.
There's nothing in the Obama birth story that questions that he was born in Hawaii. The birthers released a badly done forgery claiming that he was born "Barry Soethro" but it clearly someone who put "Barry" over his half-sister's name on her birth certificate. There's some odd questions about Trig birth(the flying to Alaska after her water broke, lack of Trig on the birth rolls, etc), but those could be put down in a second. Not that anything Palin does makes any sense lol.

Well she is on a fast track. She couldn't do that as Governor.
Nor as VP candidate. So at least now she is getting all the fame and fortune that she couldn't do in public service.

Everyone has heard the Rush Limbaugh clip by now.

Rush was attempting to insult Democrats/liberals by calling them retards. Anyone who is against using that word in a derogatory manner based on principle would object. Sarah Palin was only against it when Rahm said it purely to score political points. In politics, Republicans are required to get on their knees and kiss Limbaugh's ring. So she did.
There is absolutely no difference in the way Limbaugh used it and the way Rahm used it. Rush went out of his way to agree with Rahm by claiming what Rahm said to be a fact.

I can't believe that self indulgent circus of stupid, Sarah Palin, has her own thread and is getting the press she does. Every time he name it's mentioned it reminds America how the Reps are bankrupt of direction and leadership. And that's sad, because the Dems are only slightly less devoid of leadership and ideas. If the Reps had any semblence of a platform and an electable leadership, they might actually be able to win seats in the midterm based on merit -- not based on retirement or the fact that they're not Dems.

I use the term "retarded" all the time, so I am not troubled at Emmanuel's use or anyone elses. Your wish for me to fit one of your liberal stereotypes goes unfulfilled.
Palin blasted Emmanuel for using the term "retarded" in a private conversation that was reported in a book. She went so far as to call for him to resign from his job. She did so because she said the word "retarded" was offensive and should not be used in any context even in a private conversation. Then Rush goes on his radio station and uses it in a very public sense also in an attempt to deman yet somehow he is absolved because it is "satire". Then Family Guy takes a swing at her again using "satire" and they are bad guys.
And I listended to Rush's clip as well as saw the video of him speaking. I do my homework unlike your hero Sarah Palin. Just because I did not listen to Rush live does not mean I did not hear it. there is this thing called the internet where audio clips and video clips are readily available, most of the time unedited. You should look into it.

But I still think there is a difference. Rahm used it in a private conversation which was reported by a third party, Rush used it on air to millions of viewers/listeners. Both used it in a derogatory sense. Only Rahm did not intend to broadcast it to millions, Rush did. If in fact you think that the use of the term "retarded" is an offense in and of itself, and think that someone who uses it in private conversation should be fired (which is the ultimate definition of PC ironically) then should not someone who broadcast it to millions on purpose also be subject to that wish?
Personally I think neither man should be held responsible for use of the term "retarded". Personally i think this who debate is retarded and we are all stupider for participating in it. But the whore of punditry Palin has brought it on us and pointing out hey hypocracy should be easy, yet her supporters seem to think it is ok because she is so damn plucky.
