Wiz deal Jamison to the Cavs

Quote:
Cleveland, Washington and the Los Angeles Clippers have an agreed to a three-team deal that will land Antawn Jamison with the Cavaliers as LeBron James' new sidekick instead of Amare Stoudemire, according to NBA front-office sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that the deal will also send Zydrunas Ilgauskas' $11.5 million expiring contract and a first-round draft pick from Cleveland to Washington.
The deal also calls for the Wizards to receive Al Thornton and Brian Skinner from the Clippers, sources said, with L.A. getting forward Drew Gooden, whom Washington acquired in last week's trade with Dallas.
Besides Jamison, Cleveland will also acquire Clippers guard Sebastian Telfair.

Salary dump deal for the Wiz. Illgauskas, Thorton and Skinner all are free agents after the season.

A low draft pick. So how do we plan on going after in free agency since they're blowing up the whole team just to save some $$$?

Wow.... Just wow. Haywood, Butler, and Jamison for the potential final pick of round one and Josh Howard. Tearing it all down! Just BLOW IT UP! My goodness...

Talk to me after free agency next season. If they can dump The Gunslinger's contract, they can be players for just about anyone.

I thought he looked like Cerrato when he gave Arenas that ridiculous contract. Or better yet when the PG and frontcourt was neglected.

True. But it just seems like the Wizards are the Redskins and the everyone else is the Broncos, lol. They know we need to unload guys just for salary cap reasons.

Maybe Ernie can sell it for a few mill. That pick shouldn't be far away from the 32nd they sold last year.
I really hope they can void Arenas contract. Will be interesting to see what big name FA(s) they will target. Durant in 2011 please.

Huge fan of Jamison, so I'm sad to hear about this deal. The Wizards as we know it have been dismantled.

Right, but the Wiz are doing what they should have done a year ago. They shouldn't have given Jamison or The Gunslinger their extensions, so now they're stuck getting 30 cents on the dollar to that they can go after Boozer and someone else.

I HOPE we can somehow void that albatross of a contract. If ownership is new, and we actually do dump Arenas we will be ripe for sucking up draft picks from teams looking for cap relief. I am unsure if any big time free agent will want to come here and be part of the rebuilding. Getting rid of Jamison was absolutely critical in wake of the piracy with the Mav's. I still feel like Ernie should have been able to squeeze more picks and young prospects out of this, but we are really ready to start from the ground up.

How many empty seats will there be in the phone booth for the remainder of the season? I feel sorry for Buckhantz and Chenier. Imagine trying to make the games sound interesting now...

Is there anyone coming out of college this year that's a must have? If not, the Wiz will snag the top pick in the lottery. Kwame kwame kwame
