Default Combine participation

So Bradford will not participate in drills or interviews.

Clausen will take tests and intervie, no drills.

And Suh is going to do it all. That speaks volumes about this guy, IMO. Consensus top player and still going to participate.

Bradford is an idiot if he doesn't do interviews at some point.

I thought he was? NFLN reported that he's doing that and taking the wonderlic.

And Bradford/Clausen aren't doing drills because they're both hurt. Clausen's long term toe injury still is a problem apparently.

If he is, then great. He'd be a fool not to do at least those two things. I'd expect him to throw and workout on his pro day.

March 25th. He's expected to do everything then.

When it comes to QBs I don't think the combine is any indicator, especially in contrast to film/level of competition/etc. evaluation. A QB of any sort that isn't accurate, etc. in shorts should not be considered before round 5, and then only if the team is willing to take years to find out if the skills lack can be trained into the prospect. Same thing with pro days. Didn't Health Shuler look fabulous at his proday, altering the draft plans oif a team we all know?

I agree with you. Clausen and Bradford might still be there in round 2. If not just go in a different direction

Barring some new injury issues, neither one makes it past San Fran at 16(almost certainly).

If they don't want to work out then I am a little suspicious. We need a QB though. I like Kafka from Northwestern. We could get him in the mid rounds.

Both will on their pro day. I don't think that there's anything to get suspicious over here. Neither one is 100%, so they don't want to turn in a bad combine performance.

The bad thing about their pro days is that the workouts are designed by the player and/or the school, and probably the agents. Those QB's won't be throwing the very tough throws that they have to make at the combine, like the deep outs in the deep in's and crossing patterns. Pro days are designed to only show the strengths of the players and not their weaknesses.
