Monk and Green didn't face a fraction of the adversity JC did, and he maintained his dignity and composure throughout it all. I wish he were a better QB too, but I'll salute him for giving us everything he had.

Jason, you went through a great deal while here. Go to Oakland and work hard and be successful. Good Luck.

Thanks Jason for handling yourself with grace, dignity and class in an environment where many of the people in superior positions to yours showed none. I have a ton of respect for you as a man, and appreciate all that you have gone through. I also think that you are a very good QB, and have the potential to be a winner in a more supportive and competent environment. I hope you are able to reach that potential in Oakland or wherever else you go. G-d bless you and all the best.

+1. this is an appreciation thread. If you have nothing nice to say in this thread, don't post.

Did you see Ramsey? It is a terrible sign that the FO ruined one QB, then traded 3 draft picks to replace him just so they could ruin a new QB. It took 10 years and several regime changes for the franchise to realize that you cannot be successful if you don't protect the QB. But it is not as if we have the most famous OL in history to serve as an example or anything.

It's easy to be classy when things go your way. The true measure of a person (or a player) is how he reacts when things go badly. It is certainly possible that Darrel and/or Art are just as classy as Jason--we just don't know because the first two have never been put to the test.

Couldn't agree more.

JC (Coincidental initials? I think not) was forced to suffer through being gainfully employed for four years. Even worse he had to adjust the way he did his job to accommodate new supervisors. Ridiculous.

And he also had to get hit by large men. Hit? By large men? While playing football? The humanity.

During this terrible time in Campbell's life the only thing he got in return was millions and millions of dollars. Oh and also fame and celebrity.

And when he went home to the mansion he lived in? Well of course nobody was there to greet him . . . other than his beauty queen girlfriend.

I frankly don't understand how he was able to get through each day.

Darrel Green gave this team 18 years of stellar play only to watch the team bring in a washed up Deion Sanders to take his spot. He handled that slight, with grace and humility. And don't get me started on the injuries (another form of adversity) Green has battled through in an effort to be there for us.

I think they each had their share of adversity. It manifested itself in different forms.

JC's great feat was not whining for four years about adversity he had at least some hand in creating. While being tight-lipped is a rarity in today's world of jerk athletes, let's not get silly and start comparing him to the Greens and Monks of the world.

I know I should shut my keyboard in this thread. But I'm irritated that fans of a proud franchise are going overboard for a guy with a largely forgettable career, even to the point of pulling for him to come back and beat the Skins.

This is why these threads are useless. For something like an "appreciation thread"' I wish people would keep the negativity to themselves...

Any way...

Thanks JC for doing and giving your best to the Redskins. That is more than I can say about a lot of the a-holes you played with. Good luck in Oakland, and I hope you have much success.

Yes, you should. Start a good riddance thread if you want, I'm sure you'll have plenty of company.

First of all, I am not one of those people who are pulling for him to beat the Skins. I really don't understand your point, as it relates to me. I'm merely applauding a mediocre player who gave us 100% effort throughout his career and kept his mouth shut beside ample opportunity to become a pain in the arse. In his appreciation thread. There shouldn't be any negative comments in here. We are constantly begging this sort of attitude from our players, someone actually follows through and it warrants your ridiculously sarcastic post? Why can't you just tip your cap, or at the very least, not litter the thread with more criticism of one of the more maligned good guys I can pull from recent Redskins memory?

And trying to trot out his initials as some overarching theme for why there is dissension about JC is assinine.

Regardless, he's got a chance at starting now. I wish him well unless he's playing the Skins.
Wow...

Well I will tell you this, while at church yesterday, a large number of people that I spoke with felt the same way I did, without even opening up my mouth. So you can let your irritation get the best of you. I could care less. I'm pointing out that if he were to come back and kick the skins behind, I would be upset at the loss, but in the same time I would feel good that Jasom has gotten some type of revenge for all the crap he went through here.
