I'll toss my hand in and say that I started to like Jaime around the middle of book 2, and by the end of book 3 he was one of my favorite characters.

For me the only likable character named Lannister is Tyrion, mostly because his family treats him the way they treat everyone not named Lannister. I cannot get over what Jamie did to Bran and I was sad that Cersei didn't receive his head in a box.
We'll see if I change my tune by the end of book 3. I am only 10 chapters in.

Carmelo and any other folks without HBO who don't want to pay to watch the series, I have been watching it on my PS3 internet browser at this site:
http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/i...me_of_thrones/
Very good quality.

Okay now that I am mid-way thru the 3rd book, I can see where you guys are going with this. Certainly events have made him a more sympathetic character, but I haven't moved him into the likable category yet...
My favorite characters are: Tyrion, Arya Stark, Bran, Jon Snow, Davos the Onion Knight and Dany.

These are probably what a majority of fans' favorite characters are. I will also throw in Barristan and Jaqen H'gar.

For shame that I didn't mention The Hound. You're right on that one.

I watch on the site using the plug-in. Then I expand to full screen. I do it through my PS3 so I can watch on my 60".
Not sure how I feel about the Hound. I will find out soon though it looks like.
These are the characters I loathe: Cersei and Tywin Lannister, Joffre, Caetlyn Stark, Sansa Stark.

A little more than halfway through the 2nd book (A Clash of Kings). I already have A Storm of Swords, so I won't be held up when I finish the current book. Borders going out of business and the subsequent sale of an entire shelf of this series took away my go to spot. I'm old fashioned and like books and am growing to despise electronic gadgets.

Okay. I am about 65% done with Storm of Swords and I just want to make sure I don't say anything here to ruin it for you.
I was like you and refused to get an electronic reader. Now I am so happy I have one. Mostly because I don't have to build any new shelves to store books.....and the price is generally cheaper when bought on the kindle.

I finished A Feast for Crows a couple of days ago and dove right into A Dance With Dragons. Also, I too have joined the kindle club, and have pretty much had your same experience...din't like it and didn't want it, them my brother got if for me, and have loved it ever since. I have also noticed that I am actually reading more (for some odd reason) with it.
A Feast For Crows, IMO, needs some time to get used to, but after a while, once you get used to the new characters and settings, is really good as well.

Akh sent me like 160 books on the Kindle. That's the other thing I love is the ability to share books with other kindle users.
I know I've said this, but I really encourage anyone who is into the fantasy genre at all to check out Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos series. Later I am going to shoot you a PM to discuss the sharing thing.
I was always a voracious reader, but the kindle is so lightweight and convenient (lighter than many books even) that I too find myself reading more. (I also play a few games on it on occasion, EA Texas Hold Em and the word game that comes with it).
