Signs for cautious optimism. We seem to want to play with more energy and desire so far this pre season.Maybe players know they are fighting for their future.

I think it also helps that we don't have so many old farts limping around.

How the other side views it:

Asked about the showing of Painter and Orlovsky, Caldwell said: “Inconsistent play is probably the best way to sum it up without really having an opportunity to look at the film. I have to look at the film and diagnose it before I come up with a decree.”
The Colts have totaled one touchdown and two field goals in their two preseason games.
“Yeah, it's the preseason, but at the same time you still want to go out there and play well and compete,” Painter said. “I think as a team we're disappointed we didn't get down there and have some drives that we could have put it in the end zone, but it is preseason and we're still working to get better.”

Hmmm...Well, having been conditioned to temper my expectations based on preseason games I will refrain from doing a happy dance, but there is little doubt that they look to be a much better team.

Even the stories I've seen on the big sports web sites, while not yet exactly glowing, are now passing up on the opportunities to take shots at the Redskins.

Keeping my fingers crossed this is the start of something good.

Yes you are right this means nothing, because there is nothing we can take from this data. So they are the champions of games that don't count. Remember Danny Awful and Shane Matthews looked wonderful in pre-season too. This is no different, and I would not expect these types of numbers in the regular season.
