I am sticking with mildly approve at this juncture.

I like the intangibles the Shanahans have brought to the team, I don't care for the planning and execution of their game "plan" that clearly shows their stubborness.

We have a talented cohesive unit for the most part, one that subscribes to the plan. We don't have coaches that make adjustments to build around the skills of the team.

I want to see an executed plan that plays to each starting members strengths and not one based on a predestined plan formulated days before. I will strongly approve when I see game day adjustments. Every so often ad-libbing is ok, but not at the frequency I'm seeing.

Put me down for strongly approving the team chemistry and mildly disapprove of the gameplanning.

I will always disapprove of Shanny as long as he employs his son and see's Rex and Beck as anything more than a temporary situation at QB.

Until those situations are remedied, we will never win a playoff, if we are lucky to get in one. So, I don't give a crap about how he remakes the rest of the team, as far as he is concerned. I have little interest in being a tough, disciplined team with talent that is a wildcard at best because the QB sucks and the playcaller is an idiot with an unsubstantiated ego.

As for "unsatisfying wins against lesser opponents" I guess that's a matter of perspective. Which I can maintain even if you can't. A scant few weeks ago the Rams were much higher in EVERY prognosticators "rankings" than the Skins, except maybe a few hopeless homers... A few weeks ago they were the new blood on the verge of turning into a good team just like the Lions...

Road game
Steven Jackson (second only to any Giants RB of the past two decades for hurting the Skins IMO)
"franchise" QB

You can look at it as an unsatisfying win against an inferior opponent... no surprise there how you move the bar whenever it's convenient. The truth is I'm surprised you haven't found similar things to say about the Giants and Cards wins (perhaps you did in threads I haven't read who knows).

Or you can look at it as gutting out a road victory against a team that has comparable talent levels but a much more talented QB. You could view it as a game where a late pick was thrown, that in past years would have made them wilt and give up, but instead of hanging their heads they played defense with heart and pulled it out.

By my reckoning that is an IMPROVEMENT over the past... and being a reasonable person, I'm okay with an improvement.
Rush Limbaugh called...he says you may want to dial back on the self righteousness

Ironically you and I have the same criticisms of the team if your posting about Kyle's playcalling in another thread can be believed. However you believe it will be fixed, I believe Mike will continue to let his petulant son undermine any qb who does not have an ankle tatoo of his initials.

Start the poll! Start the poll! Start the poll!

(I'm still going to disapprove)

The new bar for me is this: Beat the Eagles. You've got two weeks to prepare. Prove that our defense is light years better, prove you have a plan to stop Vick, prove you know where DeSean Jackson is on the first play of the game. Good coaching staffs can figure out a way to win divisional games at home with two weeks to prepare. Do it and I'll be in the mildly approve camp, quarterback be damned.

Seriously, this game is a pretty good barometer because we all remember what happened last year. Vick's jersey went to the Hall of Fame.
