Are you serious? There's no way you can say that and seriously want to keep Rex.

Public breakups get so awkward and messy.

i heard the whole interview. there was some good ("look, we were 5-11. i'm not satisfied with any area of the team"), and some bad ("that's why everyone loves rex. he's got the right attitude").

he also pretty much ignored john beck completely until sheehan/loverro brought it up. at that point, he said beck "played like a rookie". he's done.

Rex will be the opening day starter unless they sign Manning. Book it.

Yea I couldn't post all of it. I posted this thread from my phone.

To be fair, I may not have gotten his exact words correctly (based on memory), but that comment about everyone loving Rex was in direct response to being questioned about Rex's "we were a pretty good 5-11 team" comments. You could tell that Kyle wasn't talking about Rex in past-tense, so you're probably right.

Beck probably interrupted one of Kyle and Rex's "film study" sessions.

The RI report talks about how Kyyle went on and on about getting a top flight WR. I would read this as:
1-Moss is a goner
2-They don't think much of Hankerson
3-They don't see QB as big a priority as we do.

I guess thats how Beck became the starter. Beck went to Mike Shanahan and Shanahan didn't alert the proper authorities lol....too soon?

Or possibly not in the DRAFT. Hope that doesn't mean Plan A is Flynn or Manning. Or that Kyle still has a man-crush on Rexy.

I think that they think that they need a QB, but while we see it as a gun shot wound that needs to be addressed immediately imo they see it as a long term degenerative condition that could be addressed with Rex for now and expending a 4th or 5th round pick on project to replace him in 2014.

Shanahan has admitted that he is moving into year 3 of a 4 year window of opportunity. If his master plan is to unveil his QB of the future in 2014, then he's a little late, even by his own assessment of the realities of coaching an NFL franchise.

Shanny also said he staked his reputation on Rex/Beck.
