I could see Holmgren going after a proven veteran and using McCoy as a backup, with a mid-to-late round QB as an understudy.

Holmgren placed a clipboard in McCoy's hands and only allowed him to play when there were no other options.

Colt McCoy will have a very short NFL career. He took several knockout punches in college and is very prone to concussions. He can't take many more "Harrison hits".

Blackmon is a stud. But I'm also intrigued with Alshon Jeffery from South Carolina. 6'4" decent speed. 4 receptions, 148 yards thus far against Nebraska.

I really want a receiver that can go up for the jump ball in the red zone.

Wow, just saw a replay of Alshon Jeffery going up over the top in a crowd to pull down a Hail Mary pass as time expired in the first half of the South Carolin/Nebraska game. This guy is 6'4 and built. The only negative was that he was thrown out of the game for getting into a fight with a defensive back from Nebraska.

In fairness, all Jeffrey did was push the DB, while the Nebraska player was the one who threw a punch. Jeffrey should have gotten 15, not tossed.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't see the skirmish. All I saw was a replay of a very impressive catch, and a mention that he was tossed out of the game later. Still 4 receptions, 148 yards is not too shabby.

I love Jeffery. But our resident South Carolina expert has assured me he won't be coming out this year.
