2012 NHL Thread
Better late than never since we haven't had one in a while.
The east is pretty much wide open but I think the Bruins and the Pens (if Crosby and Staal are back) are going to be a very touch out in the east and as much as I want to pick the Red Wings in the west, The STL can beat anyone if Brian Elliot gets hot. I'll make the gutsy call and say they come out of the west and hope Staal and Crosby get healthy because the homer in me really wants to pick the Pens in the east. Don't really trust the Flyers or the Rangers to show up when it counts even though the Flyers are loaded as always.

Never seen anything like this in my life. Don't even care that I'm talking to myself at this point.

The Pens are refusing to play defense for some reason. 2 SH goals and the 5th came seconds after the Pens went up after Lovejoy litteraly handed the puck to Cotourier who could have read a magazine as he skated in on Floury. When you score 8 goals in two home games in the playoffs you should at the very least be tied in the series.

In the illustrious words of Breaking Benjamin, we live to fight and die another day.

There's simply no excuse to give up ten goals at home. That's the kind of game that can turn a 3-0 series.

Too soon to tell. If Fluery has put his historic slump behind him it could get interesting, but he really didn't have too much to do tonight and has been absolutely miserable when put under any kind of pressure. Nothing about this series has been remotely conventional so who knows.
Good luck to the Caps tomorrow night BTW. I haven't had a chance to watch much of that series but it seems like every game has been a tossup so far and Holtby is holding up much better than expected.

The Pens series has to be one of the more ridiculous playoff series in recent memory. Imagine if they come back and force a game 7? Dave is right, this is the kind of game that can turn a series (jinxjinxjinxjinxjinxjinx)
