Nicks wants to make more then his teammate Evans who banked 7 yrs 56 million I believe. I would pay him close to that though but idk If shanny will. Keep an eye on rachal, brisell who are both zbs guards. And I agree we need to sign a rt or draft one

Getting Nicks shows that the Redskins are serious about finally fixing their OL problems - NOW. We've got to have some hi-end talent that isn't one puff from being gone for a season. Even with that signing, I'd also like to see us use whatever draft picks are left to bring in at least one OT developmental / depth draft picks.

There's a lot of ZBS talent hitting the street on the interior line. Chris Myers (C) from the Texans is a bit older (30) than you'd want to see but you could foreseeably get another 3-4 years and it'd be worth protecting the new QB. Carl Nicks is another guy, he's a mauler but he's as fast and agile as Lichtensteiger, so he could fit well in the ZBS.
The real issue I have is our RT spot. I don't like Jared Gaither, I don't trust his ability to play every snap. Other than that, there's Demetrius Bell and he's going to want LT. Maybe the answer is a trade like the one for Hightower? Willie Smith, I think, is too limited for starter duty but I do like him as a back-up.

A big wide receiver makes sense, unfortunately my druthers would have been Mike Wallace or Dwayne Bowe, and it looks like they're sticking around.
So now we're stuck choosing between Jackson and Colston, seeing as they're both huge, will both be 29 when the season starts, and are Pro Bowl caliber.
On the down side, Colston already has some history of injuries and microfracture surgery, whereas Jackson has DUI issues, and is one mistake away from a year long suspension (see T.Williams, F. Davis).
They both seem risky to me all of a sudden, and then I look at who's been throwing them the ball. Brees and Rivers? Man, I want to see a receiver produce who's had it rough (like catching a pass from John Beck or Tim Tebow) yet he produces (maybe Pierre Garcon or Eddie Royal, but they're smurfs!)
So the question is what flaw can you live with in a #1 WR; off-the-field issues, injury and age concerns, lack of size, or being an unproven commodity?

The Choice for a FA WR boils down to several factors:
1. Height - we need a big, 6'3" guy or taller.
2. Age - under 30 - able to give us at least 5 more years
3. Speed
4. Character - hopefully no DUI or drug issues
5. Money - how much - rookies will be cheaper
I think that #1 and #2 are the biggest issues - followed by #4. We will get a real X WR this year and allow Moss to go down to the #2 Y WR position.

After todays trade I see us being more aggressive in free agency, filling holes with younger guys that are of the fringe starter caliber and adding a couple of playmakers at WR and CB.

He's a 50 catch/season wideout. Reminds me of Antwan Randel El. I would save my lunch money.

It's not that he's crap it's just that he doesn't fit what we need here at the moment.
Manningham will thrive on a team that already has a true number 1 WR.
