Default Hoge Breakdown of RGIII v. Luck

http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2012/sto...throws-pro-day

This about video, not article.
I think Griffin better prospect because of quick release and laser arm.
I would honestly be bummed if we got Andrew Luck.
Crazy to say that, but man.

That's just Merl Hodge trying to say something original. I would take Luck over RG3. I think they will both be very good but Luck is the better QB.

Your problem is you are relying on an analysis from Merill Hodge.

for quite some time Luck has been seen as the best pro qb prospect to come out in a decade.. that shouldnt be set aside because of the buzz that RGIII has created... both have the potential to be great pro qb's

Can somebody put a hood over Hodge and keep him quiet until after the draft?

I think the overwhelming majority of Redskins fan have their hearts set on RG such that getting Luck may actually be a disappointment.

Are you sure Luck is a better QB than RG? Did you catch Charley Casserly talking about concerns of Luck's arm strength yesterday on NFL Network?

There is apparently a school of thought that Luck sometimes "aims" or "lobs" his downfield throws due to a lack of arm strength. I hope that is not the case, since I don't want Indy to pass Luck to us because he is not as good as RG.

I've never liked Hodges takes. This one is interesting but it seems like people are nitpicking Luck at this point bedause RGIII has been impressive here recently.

Not sure who is better but its interesting that some people think they are different sort of qb's. I think they are very similar qb's.

I think Luck has a more advanced feel for the game just because he was exposed to more nfl ready concepts.

But its not something RGIII can't make up now that h's being exposed to those things.

You know who had questions about his arm strength coming out of college? Peyton Manning. No one has those questions now. This is just the usual pre-draft crap that goes on every year picking on the minutia of the front runner in order to justify another possible selection.

I know you prefer Luck over RG, but I seriously doubt you are in the majority among Redskins fans. In any vote among Wash fans, I think RG would win overwhelmingly.

You are right--Peyton did have his arm strength questioned when he came out of college. And, I think those questions were legitimate. I don't think Peyton has a big arm. But, it is also clear that Peyton's arm strength is good enough and hasn't hampered him.

I hope the same is true of Luck, because I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that Indy will take Luck over RG.

It has nothing to do with me. But it's just silly to claim the "overwhelming majority" of Skins fans would be disappointed with Luck. That claim contradicts the general consensus of football experts and football fans.

What is probably accurate is that a majority of Skins fans have fallen in love with the guy because he's talented, fantastically likable and (most importantly) he is about to be their quarterback. Skins fans know RGIII is coming here and have begun to treat him like one of their own (myself included). But that doesn't mean they aren't still aware Luck is the better prospect.

The "general consensus" has never been wrong? I think Griffin is better and have for a couple months now.
