I also don't wish to get involved in one of your point by point drag out battles. Most of the points you've made could be true...Or not. It depends on what is really in the hearts of those involved. We disagree, but I can't with any certainty say that I know any better than you do.

I think we can agree that it would be best for the fans, teams, league and players that someone detached from the league and league system to take a clear and honest look at why the league thinks this should happen and why the skins think that they were in the clear.

And we're back to square one. The argument about this always refers back to whether you think the league should be able to impose penalties for violation of a rule that existed without existing. Whichever side of the fence on which you stand regarding that central issue will determine whether you think the Skins/Girls have a case or not.

This is a free agency thread, BUT there is NO reason to blame themselves. The BS memo the league sent was just that, we did everything within the rules end of story.

Isnt that the position that runs routes out and the Qb throws it to them? I think that the skins signed 2 Olinemen so far this offseason and tried to sign a third.

Everything the 4 teams (and the other 28 by the way) did was legal under the league's written rules.

Then challenge it. But realize that if the arbitrator rules that the skins did circumvent the cap(but the punishment wasn't allowed), the "win" could be worse then just taking the cap reductions

No. Be patient. There's a plan in place. Rome wasn't built in a day. Cerrato was bad. Reed Doughty. Yeah.

I am given to understand that the team intends to. But I have pretty strong feelings that an arbitrator is not going to look beyond the four corners of the CBA and if that is the case, the win will be that the ruling will hold that you cannot circumvent that which by written rule does not exist.

After the draft because the skins could take several olinemen, UDFAs because they found Willie Smith last year(and barely played him), minicamps because you could find a diamond in the rough, the first cuts because another team could dump a functional starter, the 2nd cuts because a team could dump a depth player, before the setting of the final starting roster because Shanny could suddenly sign someone off the street, also its really not fair to judge a team until they have a chance to gel together so at least week 6, but by then you should let Shanny roll with what he has to see if there's another Willie Smith again....so not until after the 2012 season. However then you're just "bitching about the past and should move on."

I wouldn't get my hopes up about the arbitrator.
