Let's be fair here, RGIII's been a Redskin for nearly 3 days and has done absolutely nothing. We've not won once yet and we're no nearer the playoffs than we were before we signed him.
I say bench him for Cousins before the season's over...

The Kolb deal is why there won't be another kolb deal lol.

Any QB who shows flashes will always be sought after. Too important of a position.

Yes, but after Kolb, you aren't going to get that much in return except in a conditional trade(but I doubt that even then). If the skins wanted to deal Cousins, right before you pick him is when you do it. If Cousins never sees the field in regular season games, the skins will be lucky to see a 5th for him. And with 5-8 legit Qb prospects potentially in the next draft, the Cousins' value will keep dropping.

What about the Matt Schaub deal?
Kirk Cousins is a pretty good prospect he would have been a 2nd rounder last year IMO.

Here is a opinion I just read on the Kirk Cousin pick.....He makes a good case on the pick.
"Why draft a QB 3 round later…Oh I dunno, because you need to revamp the entire QB unit and the only people Grossman and Beck scare are their own teammates and coaches? Nah….crazy crazy stuff!
If Griffin is emotionally wounded by this and needs to have his hand held (your assertion not based on any evidence whatsoever) then that makes the Cousins pick all the better. Either way they are upgrading from Grossman and Beck and no one sensible with a pulse would argue that they haven’t upgraded significantly in the process even with 2 rookies."

The short term flipping rumor for the pick makes no sense and that is why I don't believe it. I think the quoted plan is correct, or simply it is for Cousins to be the backup for the forseeable future (Grossman will be around at most for this season).

If you were drafting in real time without the benefit of hindsight to know certain players who fell were actually going to fall that far(ex. Boykins and Ta'Amu). Who would you have taken as the GM?

Mayock chimed in on the subject last night. He figured that Shanny realized Beck & Grossman weren't the answer and the Cousins pick was just a step in getting rid of both of them. Grossman will be on the roster in 2012 because he is the only experienced QB in Shanny's system and will be jettisoned ASAP after they are comfortable with Cousins.

Went to high school with UDFA Marcus Hyde. Graduated a few years after me. Rumors we're he was on the steroids back then. He was pretty huge and kinda douchey. Best of luck to him though

By all means, get the perceived value up for Cousins, but the odds of that are low at least.

No way.

But, if Mort is right, they aren't doing that

With the Cousins pick, I would have taken Boykin, and Ta'amu with the pick the Steelers used him on.

LeReibus' academic issues had to do with switching majors as opposed to any kind grade shortcomings. He got a 31 on his wonderlic and was an econ major in college. If there were intelligence issues Shanny wouldn't have drafted him in the third round.
