Default Shanny involved in player collision

ESPN reported Shanny hurt, and then Shanny involved in collision. Anyone heard an update?

Im guessing Brandyn Thompson will be an "ex-Redskins" pretty soon. He's the one who ran into him. Shanny might have a concussion.

One injury of note during Monday's OTAs occurred when Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan found himself at the intersection of wide receiver Pierre Garcon and cornerback Brandyn Thompson during a 7-on-7 drill.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports the collision kept the 59-year-old Shanahan on the ground for several minutes. Though he remained on the practice field, his scheduled session with the media after practice was canceled.

"He showed some toughness. Got up. Stuck it out. So that's a (trademark) of our team," rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III said after practice. "It was pretty scary to see two guys running full speed smack dab into your coach. We're glad he got up, glad he was fine. And hopefully he's fine tomorrow 'cause usually hits like that don't kick in until the next day.

Great - get someone to tell him his real name is Bill Bellichick and we're as good as in the playoffs...

Gotta make sure they tell him he's New England Belichick, not Cleveland Belichick.

Not a good way to start the year. Hope this isn't a glimpse of things to come, but its Washington so why wouldn't it.

I think this is all about trying to figure out practice in " the bubble". Shanny's back was turned to a deep route, watching another drill on the opposite side of the field, and he got clocked.

Damn, he could've been a hero if he'd gotten the other Shanahan.

Guess we should be glad we're actually practicing these things instead of leaving them to chance....

On the contrary - Shanny always loves to use the mantra of "he practices really hard!" as a justification for using players with less talent (i.e. Rabach, Doughty).
