all the changes and new additions
Although i always want to have great expectations and anticipation for success this time of year...something seems different this time. From RGIII to the wide receivers to Jarvis Jenkins and more. But one other thing has me excited. I think the addition of Raheem Morris on the D staff is going to pay dividends. He is young, aggressive and out to prove something after failing last year in Tampa. Reminds me of Tomlin in some ways. I look forward to all the new changes this year, I feel some great things happening.

Agreed, also i like how both Morris and Haslett are liking Minnefield. They had him graded as a 3rd rounder...think we may have gotten a really nice steal !!!

Agree on Minifield. He could be the biggest dark-horse surprise in our draft. Had a very good day yesterday.
What really has me optimistic is the whole attitude in camp. Veterans are coming in in shape. Those who are rehabbing are in camp rehabbing. Shanny is smiling a lot. RGIII is not a head case, and is earning respect from the entire squad. No BS distractions with "Fat Albert" attitudes. This is all about building chemistry. The cooperation between teammates seems to be infectious. I haven't seen this atmosphere in a long time.

By the end of training camp next year there will only be a handful of holdovers from the previous regime. Among the names that will possibly/likely be gone are Grossman, Moss, Cooley, Doughty and quite probably more than a few more. The team will be younger and remade in the image of Shanahan, most of the new players will have had at least a year or two together under the same system. On top of that, drafting Griffin has energized the team, and it seems no one wants to let him down.
One thing I've noticed is that it's been months since I've read an article ridiculing the Redskins. There are still a number of "show me" types out there, but no one I've read is saying they're a joke and going to suck (as was prevalent in years past). I personally think they will be successful and compete at a very high level in the foreseeable future.

I agree there is a different feeling about this year. I do have pretty high expectations for a solid turn around this year. I also think we'll finally get to see just how much having a good quarterback can really make a difference. Also...at 36 years old... I'm excited to have a solid squad to play Madden 2013 for once and RG III will not only be the highest rated rookie quarterback to ever come out in Madden...but also the fastest. That even includes the dog killer.

I tend to agree that Minnefield looks like a "steal" as a FA. But, if Minnefield were graded to be a 3rd rounder, why would Wash keep passing on him while drafting the likes of Morris, Crawford and Berstine. Surely, I don't think the team had these three rated as better than 3rd rounders. If Minnefield does turn out to be a player, the Skins front office would have been lucky rather than good in this regard.

Minnefield dropped in the draft due to a knee injury . . . he had micro fracture surgery no too long ago i believe . . . i loved the pickup, but wasn't even expecting him to be playing yet . . . seems his knee can't be that bad and even if it has long term damage, if we get a few years out of him he is a huge steal!!

Too bad all the rollout abusers will gravitate to the Redskins.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad we "stole" Minnefield as a FA. But, I would not have gambled that he would have gone undrafted even with the injury. CBs are a lot more important and harder to get than RB/FB. I would have drafted Minnefield instead of Morris. I don't think there would have been much doubt that Morris would have gone undrafted.

I think they are referring to Raheem Morris, the DB coach.

its hard to criticize us for not drafting a guy that the other 31 teams also passed on.

Attention everyone....they're talking about our coach, not a player in the article.

I really liked that pickup and if we could get him undrafted, the more the better. I did a quick google search and SI said that before the poor pro day, Minnifield was rated as a late 2nd rounder.
