I agree. I don't know who this Chris Baker kid is, but he seemed to be everywhere and looked like he wanted to be out there.

Looked much better then Jarvis Jenkins, who was pushed around all night long.

I agree. Jarvis was not even noticeable. I think I saw a lot from Baker, Keihl and Jackson that give them a reason to stick on the squad.

As long as there are no injuries to front 7 should be a good season.

Would give the first unit a solid B. DB's (except for Wilson) seemed a little shaky, but that should surprise no one at this stage of the game. That being said, I didn't see a lot of receivers running wide open. Most of the completed passes were right on the money. The pressure was mostly very good and I was very impressed with the depth of the front seven. Four sacks is a good way to start. Chris Baker should be in on every goal line stand this year.

That should be expected until he really gets his feet wet in game situations.

I thought Rich Crawford and Rob Jackson played pretty well. Baker was a terror and Neild can be a force. I really liked Bernstine too.

I expect him to be tentative due to his knee, but not to just stand up and let himself get pushed back. Thats technique. And he wasn't doing that last preseason until he got hurt.

He's not going to just come back from a serious injury and show flawless technique, it takes time to re-adjust to game speed. I will start to get concerned if he's still getting pushed around in the third pre-season game.

If we were talking about power or speed, I agree. He's had plenty of time to work on his technique which he showed pre-injury.

id be more concerned about injuries in the secondary than the front 7. we have good depth up front, not so much in the back end...

I read a couple reviews that said quite the opposite. Plus I myself did not notice Jenkins getting pushed around all night. Some people didnt like the Jenkins pick, called it a waste, and now probably want to justify themselves somehow after being wrong about his talent and the need for depth along the dline.

From the Washington Post:
Quote:
3.) Jarvis Jenkins is getting comfortable. The 2011 second-round pick had a rather quiet first two weeks of training camp, but he finally began to round back into form this week, Jim Haslett observed. The hope was that things would really start clicking for the defensive end once the games began. Jenkins appeared more comfortable against Buffalo, playing with explosiveness. He fired off the ball, shoved linemen deep into the backfield and didn’t appear to be over-thinking. Jenkins, who hadn’t played in just under a year, said as soon as he got into the game, his old football instincts kicked in.
From ESPN:
Quote:
6. They have lots of defensive line depth. The performances of guys like Jarvis Jenkins, Chris Baker and Chris Neild -- especially at the goal line -- showed why the Redskins consider the defensive line a strength of their team. They should be stout against the run and able to create pressure with their defensive front, which also should take some pressure off the secondary.
