1) Some RB emerges and runs for 75+ yds and 5 YPC and a TD
2) Rexy throws 3 INTs prompting the skins to cut him
3) A streaker wearing nothing but a Nats cap with "Natitude" painted across her chest running across the field at the 2min warning.

You folks need straightening out and by God that's exactly what's going to happen!

So, you're saying we're stubborn and combative. Is that what this is about?

I'd also like to see more from the running game. I thought Royster looked horrible
I know what I saw, but why, I'm not sure. Expecting Fred Davis to block Mario Williams so that you can run his way is a bit much. Everything was onside, no misdirection at all. The speed the team has at RB wasn't utilized much. On one occasion the Buffalo LBs were all cheating to the strongside, but the 'skins ran the football to that side anyway. That's not to imply that there weren't things to be concerned with. Marcell Dareus just tooling Will Montgomery wasn't a pretty sight. Tom Compton isn't going to cut it at LT. Perhaps he'd be ok at RT, but I'm looking for them to slide him inside where I think he'll be a rock for a long time. Don't count him out!

I too would like to see Kirk Cousins bumped up in front of Grossman. Your 3rd QB is almost always a guy your developing, but this team is already developing two rookies. No team expects to win with their 3rd stringer, so if they're going to keep Cousins, Grossman is gone. I believe Grossman is 2nd because they're going to move Cousins. It's not a coincidence he spent most the night showing his arm strength, which is what dropped his stock. Had he thrown most of those deep balls a second sooner, he'd of hit on a lot of them. Although he did overthrow Morgan running a deep cross.

Aldrick Robinson is a serious vertical threat, homerun ball. Didn't show much ability to elevate or compete for the football. However, any CB who thinks he's going press him, better have some help because if he doesn't Robinson will blow the top clean off! You back off and he'll devour that cushion and then break for that hook rte. Had to gather to cut & did so before he had the CB up to speed, but the latter is easily corrected. He's the one we might want to see get some time with Griffin, who CAN make those throws!

The team has some guys behind Kerrigan & Orakpo; Chris Wilson, Rob Jackson, but the guy that has impressed me is Markus White. He comes off the snap of the ball very well, often before the OL. He's a legit pass rusher and strips the QB of the football when he gets there! Any time the team is up on the scoreboard and they can get into their mix, he's going to be a part of that. Sells out, you can run underneath him, needs better recognition, had trouble breaking down in space, lost contain of Vince Young, was called offside twice... But he does everything they ask Orakpo to do. He rushes, drops into coverage, never stops and has excellent range. Both offenses had stuff deep that they didn't hit on, the Redskin secondary didn't do as well as the box score would indicate.

I want to see TE Beau Reliford and RB Antwon "baby-train" Bailey. Both will make plays if given the chance.

Definitely want to see more of Alfred Morris, I thought he looked good... decisive cuts, running through tackles, always falling forward, and love the stiff arm.

Build on what they did good. Eliminate what they did bad. Get rid of what they don't need. AND STAY HEALTHY!!!!

We've been a pretty tight knit group here for over 8 years. You'll either join in with our particular brand of madness, or be gone quickly, but we don't "straighten out" for anybody. That being said, enjoy our site, these guys and gals around here are some of the greatest fans you'll ever meet.

PS: For the record, like everyone else...more Cousins, a few more plays to the left next time, more running plays and real refs would make me happy in the Bears game.

Its all about the young pups for me this game. Wanna see Crawford get more burn and a serious look at pushing Barnes and Hall for pt. Wanna see Jenkins and Baker continue to dominate in the interior, still need to see a wr step up amongst the backups. Can't blame Banks, Grossman is terrible and gave him no real chance to shine Cousins looked alittle shakey but shows good zip and arm quickness. Maybe he settles the more he plays.

Of course wanna see RGIII progress I hope he gets rushed and pressured alot more I wanna see him in more tenuous situations to see how he reacts.

I also wanna see more Tanard Jackson he seems to be the best safety prospect to me Merriweather just doesn't seems as decisive on the field. Williams, Douthy and Gomes all looked blah the kid Bernstine flashed alitrte bit.

I don't see how you got that from game 1. I think he looked like the best player in the secondary..

its nice to see that some of my fellow posters from redskins .com are posting here.
still getting used to the site.

now lets see some more progress out of the team as a whole against the bears and let the chips fall on who gets eventually cut

i got my favorites on who makes it but we are all a bunch of armchair gm's ,as long as the team progresses forward we all will be happy.

Merriweather had a great camp today. Broke up a few passes and I think had 2 picks. Also sniffed out a QB option and "tackled" RGIII near the LOS. Haven't paid much attention to him previously, but he shined today.

I would like to see the OL not losing the LOS on running plays.
More of what saw in RGIII's debut.
Better officiating.
Less Rex.

I read that Mike Shanahan doesn't know whether RT Jamaal Brown will play at all this season. All throughout the offseason Brown & Shanahan had me believing he was going to be ready! I don't get what the staff saw that was so convincing, clearly they couldn't have gauged his rehab any more incorrectly. Further, if Brown did go down I had hopes that Willie Smith would step up, but I'm not sure he even played against Buffalo. There's still Tom Compton, who took a lot of snaps at LT and I hope that continues. In the 2nd half Buffalo threw a speed rusher at him, a guy named Monroe I think, and Compton struggled against him. Jason Black, who I want to say saw time at RG, is not an option either.

Quote:
"Second-year tackle Willie Smith hasn't taken that so-called next step after starting three games as a rookie. ...Smith is not a legitimate option to start." http://washingtonexaminer.com/redski...rticle/2504850
The team acquired Chris Campbell, a young prospect from a year ago who's raw & has had weight issues. He's 6'5" & says he's down to 318lbs.

Quote:
"Scouting Report: Campbell has the talent to become a good starting left tackle, but he has a lot of work to do first. He is a tall, well-built prospect with the long arms, quickness and athleticism to slide out and block edge pass rushers. He also has the agility to move outside and block effectively in space. Despite these positives, Campbell won’t be a high pick because his technique is very raw and he gets beaten too often. He won’t be able to contribute any time soon, which is why he’ll most likely be a seventh-round pick or a free agent." http://jerseyal.com/GBP/tag/chris-campbell/
If he can keep after it he'll probably stick but I doubt he can help the team this year. I know Tyler Polumbus got a long look, but I didn't scout him at all. Awhile back I speculated on the other board that the plan for Brown might be that he'll shoot the juice so he can play w/o pain, but how often he'll practice, so as to gel with the unit, I certainly can't say. Further, on the other side LG Kory Lichtensteiger is also out until opening day. I don't know about this plan. Adam Gettis, who does hold his own in pass protection is noticeably undersized. I have seen one report that made brief mention of him taking reps at C, which would be interesting to see.
