Cowboys auditioning center who has never snapped before for the Cowboys. Miles Austin & Dez Bryant nursing sore hammies. Morris Claiborne has a sprained MCL and sore wrist.

Cowboys open the regular season against the Giants, followed by the Seahawks, Bucs and Bears. Better get healthy fast, or it could get ver ugly for the boys.

They are talented, but very thin offensively and these injuries are going to really hurt. Their D should be quite strong and it'll have to carry them, but the problems they are having aren't likely to flip the other way and disappear. I think Dallas could really struggle as a result.

on the other hand, if they survive the first month at 2-2, and start to get healthy, they will be very dangerous

Agree, but you don't tend to get heathier as the year moves along.

Not from Week 1, but teams occasionally get healthier from preseason to the regular season.

Dez Bryant has a "tight" hammy, and he is sitting out vs. Oakland as a precaution. He is deep in Jerruh's dog house for his off-the-field antics. Miles Austin is worse off, with his perennially sore hammies. And apparently their interior OL is very weak. Claiborne is back on the field practicing with a sprained MCL.

I wouldn't be surprised if they make a move to bring in Plaxico or Chad Johnson.

And now Jason Witten has an injured spleen with some internal bleeding. He will be out the remainder of the preseason, and possibly in the season opener:
