Interesting quotes from the article

One starter, who requested anonymity, agreed with that assessment, saying Spurrier appears outmatched in the NFL because of a reluctance to revamp his system.

Is Spurrier losing the team?

Another player, while requesting anonymity, said that team leaders have been the biggest culprits. The same Redskin said that the only one who has a right to criticize Spurrier is Ramsey.

"I think the inexperience of their running backs hurt them," said Cowboys safety Darren Woodson, who had one sack

"He's the type of coach who lets guys do their thing," said right guard Randy Thomas. "It was working fine when we were 3-1. People are only questioning him because we're struggling. But I put it on the players: We're professionals."

When Spurrier addresses the media, he uses a calm, plain-spoken manner that belies the complexity of his system. It's a habit that endeared Spurrier to Gator fans and much of the college football media. But as the losses mount, Spurrier truly seems at a loss to stop the slide.

"People confuse his personality with football knowledge," Theismann said. "Steve knows exactly what he wants to do. The question is, can it work at this level? And the answer to that at this point is: not very well."

This brings to mind the threads we had a couple of weeks ago with everyone debating whether the problem was the coaches or the players ( I know it's not all of either ) but the article points out that there is definately a problem with some of our players, and the PLAYERS and the Front Office have to fix it, or it will not matter WHO coaches this team.

See I don't give much credence to anonymous sources, for all I know that could be B.Smith stirring up trouble again. It's still disturbing to read, but guy's like R.Thomas who get the job done and have a good attitude give me hope for Spurrier.

I also think B. Smith is one of those vocal complainers. He should have retired before the season.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them were Bruce "I have personal goals" Smith.

While Bruce is busy making an ass of himself, I still suspect that player disillusionment with Spurrier and Snyder is very widespread.

Why would Bruce be one of the unnamed players? He hasn't had a problem before letting the world know how he feels with his name attached to such words.

No, these guys are below the radar guys who fear reprisal if discovered.
