Default My biggest draft fear.....

I don't know about you guys but I have this horrible feeling that Snyder will screw up this draft. I think this draft is very simple for the Skins snag the best available at 1 of 2 positions either DL or RB with our first round pick and then whichever hole isn't filled with either our 2nd rounder or if we have another first rounder. But if the Skins do have 2 first rounders I just know Snyder is going to try to trade up to have a top 5 pick and make a flashy pick. I would love to have Kevin Jones or Tommie Harris but not at the price of trading up when we have other needs. Snyder always seems to want to make the flashy pick and not neccessarily the right pick. As much as I love Kellen Winslow I know that DL and RB are bigger needs then him, but I think Snyder would just as soon pick the flashy player who gets a lot of publicity then the solid DL who makes plays.
I hope I am wrong

It seems like it's very hard to screw this up because the team is so unbalanced. The holes (D-line, running back) are so gaping compared to other positions that maybe even Snyder can figure this one out. Kellen Winslow and Sean Taylor should be the only players that can divert Snyder from this path and I wouldn't be too dissapointed with either, especially if we have 2 first rounders.

I would love to have a go to recieving TE everyone on this board knows that but I think that our first rounder pick or picks has got to be DL and RB. I don't want to see any trade ups or down. I figure there are atleast 3 RBs that this team should be happy with(Jones, Jackson, Perry) all of which would be major upgrades. And the DL seems relatively deep this year so a quality DT or DE should be able to be taken with our 2nd pick. I just have a feeling that if we have multiple first round picks it will drive Snyder insane not to make some sort of deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't go running back because they think they have it solved. Unlike us who feel we need that every down back. I want to see alot of defensive linemen in camp. I would love to have a pass catching/good blocking TE here too but the dline has to be fixed.

Does anyone know what picks in what rounds we will actually have.Didnt we do alot of trading in last years draft?I think we will be short a pick or two.I know for instance we would owe the Broncos a pick if Dalton played a certain amount and the same for Chase wasnt it?

I would doubt Dalton or Chase met the requirements.

I don't think Snyder has much of a choice between D-line and RB here. While I'd much rather have a D-lineman, a stud RB would at least help.

This is ONE draft where we dont want it to be exciting from a media standpoint for the Skins.

Interesting point about not being able to screw up this draft. I guess the better question to ask for this year is where do we not need help. My thought is QB and WR.

I don't think we will draft a RB because they would call for our front office to admit that it made a mistake on Betts and I don't think they have the balls

Don't be harsh, I think they just about have a pair between all of the front office people.

New Orleans has a #7 from Washington (DT Martin Chase; the pick could escalate to a 6th rounder if Chase participates in more than 40% of the Redskins' defensive snaps this season.

Denver has a conditional #5 from Washington (DT Lionel Dalton - pick drops to a #7 if Dalton doesn't participate in 40% of Redskins' defensive snaps)

But like Joe said we bet they didn't met the requirements.
So would that be a #7 and a #7?
And does that mean we have to get another #7 somewhere to give away?

And wasn't Chad Morton for a 4th? or was it a 5th?

Anyway, looks like we're gonna have a pretty high draft pick, so my biggest fear is that we draft "Courtney Brown", especially since there are three sure-fire alternatives out there-

Taylor, Winslow, and Jones.

Knowing Dan Snyder (who thinks he is playing fantasy football rather than owning a REAL NFL franchise), he is going to pursue Cory Dillon and Warren Sapp in free agency (and overpay of course) and take Kellen Winslow with the 5th pick in the draft. He really needs to realize that he doesn't know what he is doing and hire a Rich McKay, Ron Woolf or Scott Pioli to run this franchise!
