Spurrier's PC was just on Sportscenter. He ripped Mortensen for starting rumors, then pretty much said he didn't know if he was going to be back. then said there would defintely be changes to the staff. So...yeah...I have no clue.

That's rich. Spurrier ripping Mortensen for starting rumors. Were I a betting man I'd wager serious money that the source of Mortensen's report was Spurrier himself.

I saw the PC, too.

PO'ed @ Mort he seemed to be, indeed.

Definitive about his future he was not, neither did he appear comfortable in the slightest. Danced around quite a bit, it seemed to me...

I saw the PC too..... It appears that he is frustrated (As are we). Did anyone else catch on when SS said that any changes would be announce as they occur in the next few "days" or "weeks". What kind of changes will be announced in the next few days if he is gonna be out of town for the next two weeks?

After the portion of the PC that was aired, the guys at ESPN stated that SS situation is complicated. I wasn't aware that there were clauses in his contract that stated that if he quit that he wouldn't be able to coach ANYWHERE for the duration of the contract (not even at the college level). This makes me feel that the Miami rumors may have some validity.

I hope so........

Mort called Spurrier wishy washy today and said if he'd return his phone calls, these rumors could be squashed.

That's BS on Mortensen's part. If anything, he shouldn't report crap unless it has been substantuated. To act as if his being wrong is Spurrier's fault is ignorant IMO.

He is just trying to save face because he has been wrong alot lately. I have to support Spurrier on this.

They were also messing with Mort on the radio yesterday because he came out and said that he doesn't see Spurrier walking away from $15 mil and their comments were well why did you report the Miami rumor or the others.
