Default Former #5 Picks...

The #5 pick has seen some AMAZING players...and some serious DUDs.

'03 - Terrence Newman
'02 - Quentin Jammer
'01 - Ladanian Tomlinson
'00 - Jamal Lewis
'99 - Ricky Williams
'98 - Curtis Enis
'97 - Bryant Westbrook
'96 - Cedric Jones
'95 - Kerry Collins
'94 - Trev Alberts
'93 - John Copeland
'92 - Terrell Buckley

It's interesting to see 3 of the NFL's best RBs were taken in this position...(LT, Ricky and Jamal)

I just don't see Kevin Jones or Stephen Williams being/becoming one of those three guys listed above. I think this year's RB's class is a little overrated. I think it would be best for us to try and find a value RB in the 2nd-4th rd round.

Yeah, the quality kind of drops off past Ricky.

Hate to see my man Trev Alberts up there as a bust, what a talent he was. Could have been one of the greats, then he screwed up his elbow, didn't get through one full season.

I haven't heard much from Jammer. He was supposed to be the next great CB at the time. What's been up with him?

I was wondering that same question when I posted this.

During his rookie season, Jammer screwed himself by holding out the entire training camp and preseason...and didn't sign until week 3 of the regular season. So I think he rookie year was a wash, since he didn't know the offense.

He is doing much better this year, despite the Charger's lack of success. He has improved his tackles and INTs...and is quite the ball defenser.

Thanks to his "slow start" I could foresee him breaking out in 2004.
