Dean Tanking Just Like I Knew He Could

Is anyone else enjoying Dean's fall from prominence as much as myself? It's like the sensible wing of the democratic party is sending him a big 'FU' and saying loud and clear that not everyone is indoctrinated by his propaganda and drivel he calls speeches. I've been an Edwards supporter since day 1, and it's far from likely he'll win, but the man is surging in Iowa, and WILL WIN South Carolina. The nominee will be Kerry or Edwards. Clarke, if given the oppurtunity to be the front runner, will make enough stupid statements to remove himself from that position IMO. It will be interesting to see if Kerry or Edwards' success transfers to New Hampshire at all .. where Dean is losing his lead as well (this time to clarke .. but until after Iowa, Clarke has NOT dealt with the spotlight) .. anyone else find this race as interesting?

I'm hoping that Dean does get the nomination. Would be fodder for George W.

I'm pretty disappointed that he's tanking. This shows that maybe the democrats aren't as dumb as previously thought. Kerry would give Bush the biggest challenge. I don't think anyone else has what it would take. I hope Dean makes a resurgence because he'd get killed in a general election.

Dean is in trouble and his speech/rant last night isn't helping. I checked out his campaign weblog, Blogforamerica, and even his own supporters were dismayed by his speech. I thought it was embarrassing. He looked like he was on crack. And what's the deal with handing his jacket to Tom Harkin, a respected U.S. Senator, like he's some valet?

Dean's lead has been narrowed dramatically in New Hampshire due to the fact that Wesley Clark had the state pretty much to himself. [Joe Lieberman has been in N.H., too, but he's a joke and will have to withdraw soon. He has no money and no supporters outside the Beltway.] The latest American Research Group poll in N.H. [last night] has Dean at 28%, Kerry at 20%, and Clark at 19 percent. This poll was held before the results of the Iowa caucuses were known. I'd expect Kerry to get a bit of a bump from that, but not enough to overtake Dean yet. The NH primaries are on the 27th. We'll see if that is enough time for Kerry and/or Clark to overtake Dean or if Dr Dean can rally his candidacy and hang on to win in the Granite State.

Edwards did very well in Iowa, but I think he'd be well advised to skip N.H. He won't win it, though he could probably improve his standing. Nevertheless, a win in South Carolina on Feb 3 would be better for Edwards. That's his backyard, but the state is very competitive now. I think he should concentrate on winning South Carolina and let the rest of them slug it out in N.H.

I'm signed up to go down to South Carolina and volunteer for the Edwards campaign .. it won't be an easy win but I think Edwards will take it. I was extremely pleased with Edwards' showing in Iowa .. noone expected him to climb as far as he did, and now he's on the national radar. Once people start noticing him more, I think his message will be appreciated.

I don't particularly like Joe Lieberman being called a joke. He's not my candidate but to me, he is probably the most respectable of the group and hasn't changed his views for political popularity (a la Dean, Kerry, Clarke). Probably just meant to say he has no chance at winning the election, but I've met him a couple times and like him alot.

I meant his candidacy for president is a joke, in the sense that he has absolutely no chance at winning the nomination.

By the way, there is no e at the end of Clark's name.

Howard Dean is arrogant and has a hard time hiding it. I don't really blame him for that, though. From my own experience it seems to be common to the vast majority of doctors in North America. They're an arrogant bunch.

Im pleased that Kerry and Edwards finished strong in Iowa. Im starting to think that Edwards is the most electable Dem with his hat in the ring. Young, charasmatic, Good looking and from the South. Seems to hit on just about every demographic......

I too am glad Dean Tanked, and wish I would've seen his speech, it sounds as if it was hilarious.....

Yeah, lawyers can be very bad, but the God complex seems to be peculiar to doctors. I think most lawyers are humbled just a bit by the fact that most know one day the entire profession will be exterminated after the government offers a bounty for every lawyer scalp.

I agree that Kerry has the best chance at making a showing against Bush. Anyone else will just make the election a non-event.

Seems very funny though that this win caught everyone by such surprise.
