Default Vikings Rumor

There is a rumor on the net that the Vikings are willing to trade this year's # 1 and any running back on their roster for Champ. This could solve a lot of issues for us.

No, please do keep posting all relevant rumors here.

I hope it doesn't happen, don't know why, but I want Champ here.

If they were desperate (or dumb) enough to make that trade (and I doubt that they are), I don't see how we don't jump at it. Michael Bennett is a really good back and young. Champ is a great corner, but their are plenty in FA and we would still have a first round pick. I think the Vikes would be getting the short end of the stick if a deal like this was made...its likely hot air.

Yeah, I'm not gonna buy this rumor until I see more. Not the smartest move the Vikes could make.

Hey, definitely don't stop posting any rumors you hear from anywhere. It's good to talk about them.

I think Gibbs might take Williams from those three if this deal was made.

You guys dislike Dunn, but now you're saying Moe Williams is an every down back?

Dunn and Moe Williams are like a Corvette and a freight train.

And, for the record, yes I am. Williams was an every down back for part of this year and played very well.

Michael Bennett has a 4.7 CYPC average, last year his average was 5.0. He is 5-9 and 211 pounds. Remind you of anyone? I think he only started a few games because he broke his foot last off-season. The only problem I have with the idea of taking a Vikes back is that it seems that anyone can rush well in their system and with there o-line. But this guy has jets…

I'd take Michael Bennett and a #1.

I'd keep Champ, by trading him we only create another hole at CB that needs to be solved. And none of the Minnesota backs are that much of an upgrade over what we currently have to justify it.

I would no question trade Champ to Minn for a #1 (like 17 I think) and Bennett. We could go and get a solid CB in free agency (Winfield, McCallister, et al) or draft someone like Robinson from SCarolina, Poole from SCal, or Strait from OK.

Well, while we should think long and hard about keeping Champ, not to long, or to hard: you are nuts if you think we have a back that could hold a candle to A Michael Bennett, or any other back on their roster. Lets look at some stats of Bennett's:
2002 Minnesota Vikings G 16 GS 16 ATT 255 Yards 1296 avg 5.1 LG 85 TD 5 20 + 9 FD 47

Yeah, Ladell and Trung can do that.
