Default Dwayne Chambers & the NFL

Not sure who knows Dwayne Chambers? He was an English 100 metre runner, however, has recently been banned from the sport due to being found guilty of taking illegal drugs!

Just heard today that he is in training (prob as a Wider Receiver) and will go to an NFL summer training camp to try to get into the NFL next season (at the moment they say its Tampa Bay Bucs) !!!

Personally, I think it would be a disgrace if a proven illegal drug cheat is allowed to go abroad and play professional sport in another country!!!

Would be an embarrassment to me if he represented England in the NFL!

Would love to hear your views........

In the end... money will make the decision. If he looks good then teams will sign him.

True, but surely when the authorities discovered Irvin was abusing drugs, he was banned, no?

My gripe with Chambers is that he's only just been found guilty, has a two year athletics ban, yet can, up sticks, go to the States and begin an NFL career!!! Disgusting IMHO !!!

I think you're right!! I don't like to say it, but for the next few years I hope he fails to impress and simply gets cut before he can make an NFL appearance!

Although, it has to be said, if he can catch, he'll be one hell of a player... has tremendous speed and all over strength!!!!

UK, Irvin was never banned from the NFL. Matter of fact, he's a commentator on ESPN....and a rather bad one at that.

As for the money, Kevin is correct. Its all about winning. Unfortunately.

FWIW, I don't like it. Even if the Redskins pulled a stunt like this, I wouldn't be for it...

Dont get me wrong, Tex, I totally agree with your sentiment, however, I firmly believe that people have to be held responsible for their actions and first face the penalties before they get a 2nd chance!

Ive no problem with Chambers making a 2nd career in the NFL, but only AFTER he's served his punishment !!!!

I believe that because they weren't performance enhancing drugs , he wasn't banned. I don't recall him being suspended though.
