Back to the Glory Days
Hi everyone. I'm new to this site. I can't believe I never stumbled across this awesome site before.
I'm pumped about the hiring of Gibbs and the upcoming season. IMO I think next year could be an awsome year for the redskins. We could have won 11 games last year with the team that we had. There were six games that we didn't win that we should have. The reason our defense was so bad was because of a lack of discipline and poor technique. Our linebackers were always our of position and they probably couldn't have tackled me if I were running the ball. Champ had such a bad year because his technique wasn't very good. Same thing with both our lines. The offense, whether it was our line or backs, had the worst technique I ever saw for a professional team. Same thing for our pass rush.
Gibbs, Bugle, and Williams will change all that this season, and we will be one of the most fundamentally sound teams in the league. Add one impact player with the #5 pick (Sean Taylor), a big strong runner in the 2nd round (Greg Jones) and fix our d-line through FA.
What do you guys think?

By the way...I too like the idea of Taylor at #5 and Jones in the 2nd...with a FA emphasis on the D-line. (Although my opinion changes daily. )

Welcome aboard! We have already talked about Sean Taylor vs. Udeze in the draft or going offense with Kellen Winslow.
Many have already mentioned trading down to the number 10 spot with Houston and still being able to pick up Will Smith or Tommie Harris PLUS get a 2nd round pick for trading down.
Anyway....lots of options and nobody has any clue except Coach Gibbs. We all agree that whatever he does will be great. Our job is just to sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

Welcome to hR SkinzFan_Oz.
I agree with your entire post. We are about to have the first sence of stability since Snyder has bought the team. This coaching staff will be around for a long, long time.
I'm not sure why Williams didn't work out being a HC. But you have to admit. He's been a great DC where ever he has been...
